KT Studio and Studio KT are units in reciprocal relationships. Both units are established by Kentaro Tsubaki, AIA., Associate Professor at Tulane School of Architecture for the purpose of experimental architectural education and practice. KT Studio engages in education. Studio KT is a vehicle for his practice.

Tsubaki earned his B.S. in Physics from Kyoto University in Japan prior to pursuing First Professional Master of Architecture degree from University of Colorado and Post Professional Master of Architecture degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art.

He is a registered architect in the state of New York where he practiced as an Associate at Pasanella+Klein, Stolzman+Berg Architects, P.C. from 1997 to 2006. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University prior to joining the Tulane School of Architecture faculty in 2009.

Tsubaki’s primary area of interest is in tectonics of architecture, materiality and logic of construction. He is partial to what he calls an “indeterminate extension” of architectural elements – an unorthodox approach to current trends where precision in planning and construction is valued.
